Contre-Jour by Raynaud; Combining Photography and Porcelain

Contre-Jour dinnerware and serving pieces by Raynaud are inspired by the photography and designed by Marina Chastenet. Many of the photographs used are of flowers and plants. The photography used, suggested by the name Contre-Jour, was taken with the camera pointing directly towards the source of light. This creates a strong light and dark contrast that emphasizes lines and shapes - like the veins of leaves.

The Contre-Jour collection created nature-inspired pieces that show plants and flowers in their organic form. On each piece of Limoges porcelain there is a photographic image of flowers and plants, like poppies and hydrangea leaves, painted in their full intricacy. The Contre-Jour covered sugar bowl is striking. The almost transparent, sepia-hued, flower image is painted from the base upward, spilling onto the top of the lid.

Introducing Juliska's New Line: Jardins Du Monde

Juliska has recently released a new collection this spring called Jardins du Monde. This collection is made to compliment their popular Berry and Thread Collection and together create a show-stopping table. The Jardin du Monde pieces are ornately decorated with cris-crossing ropes and highly designed detailing. With a hand-applied patina, these plates, decoration, and serving pieces will stand the test of time and everyday use.
If you already own the Berry and Thread dinnerware, I would highly suggest looking into purchasing the Jardin du Monde serving pieces. The lavish detailing on these pieces will add exuberance and an understated elegance to any table set. The Jardins du Monde Round Soup Tureen stands on the table like an beautiful sculpture but is still fully functional and ready to be used.

Refreshing Salad Serving Bowl: Garden Party by Anna Weatherley

Anna Weatherley has added a new introduction to their Garden Party collection. The Garden Party Salad bowl, is a wonderful addition to this collection and has become my favorite piece in this entire collection.

The Garden Party Salad Bowl by Anna Weatherley becomes part of the salad with as the the bowl is wrapped entirely in ceramic lettuce leaves, making it appear to be a hollowed out head of lettuce. Adorning the lettuce leaves are Anna Weatherley's signature butterflies and insects. This serving bowl is a great piece for any summer afternoon garden party or luncheon, or the perfect gift to bring to one.

Cipolla Pewter Westport Glass Bowl; Making Glass Natural

The Westport Glass Bowl by Cipolla Pewter is a stunningly rustic piece that would look handsome on any table. The glass bowl itself is held in a nest of twigs that give this piece its natural, woodsy feel. It would be a wonderful gift for anyone who loves the outdoors or owns a rustic home!

Cipolla Pewter is a wonderful brand that manufactures their pewter in Italy using the old world methods. The patina used at the end of the creation process makes these pewter trays, bowls, and flatware comparable to some of the world's most expensive sterling silver. It is a wonderful brand that like their pieces will only improve with time.

She Sells Sea Shells at Sallie home; Coral Seas by Lynn Chase

Lynn Chase moves away from her typical decor of land animals and focuses on sea creatures in the collection, Coral Seas. The collection is prefect for the sea lover or for a beach side house. The bright coral makes it a fun and chic dinnerware; and the gold outlining makes it classy and perfect for use in a formal setting. The Coral Seas shell-shaped dish is an interesting piece in this collection; setting it apart from other sea-inspired dinnerware. My favorite item is the Coral Seas tea cup, which has a cute little fish on the inside of the cup - I'm a sucker for that little but attention-grabbing detail.

Beautiful Baby Blanket by Brahms Mount

Baby animals are a sign that spring has arrived. Though I have noticed more of my friends having babies than animals, I would safely say spring is here. Babies are a great joy, but the abundance of babies this spring has also become a little bit of a burden for me as I am forced to find the perfect baby present. In my search I have found the most adorable baby gift for the spring baby.

Brahms Mount makes top-of-the-line cotton and linen blankets and throws using tried and true techniques that surpass the quality of a mass produced blanket or throw. Brahms Mount has a line of baby blankets that are soft, natural, and adorable - everything you'd want in a baby blanket. My favorite is the Checkmate Cotton Baby Blanket that comes in your choice of pastels. It is a classic checkerboard pattern that reminds me of my recently deceased baby blanket. Unlike mine, these blankets are made to last. They have a couple of other patterns, including a ticking stripe and a plain weave. Whichever pattern you choose, rest assure that they are all made from the same quality materials.

Dinnerware and Flowers: J.L. Coquet Angreacum Collection

Orchids are one of my favorite flowers. This is mainly because they were featured in one of my favorite films, "Adaptation", but also because it is truly a beautiful flower. There are many different orchids but in "Adaptation" they mention the Angreacum flower, which is a very large, star-shaped flower.

J.L. Coquet created a dinnerware collection which uses this very unique and delicate flower in its design. The Angreacum collection by J.L. Coquet is a beautiful white Limoges porcelain with these star-shaped orchids imprinted into the rim, giving this dinnerware a texture and beauty unlike any of their other collections. A great thing about this collection, besides its beauty, is that it is very versatile. It is wonderful for both a formal or a casual occasion and can be paired with just about any tabletop accessory. A Gift That Shows True Love: Steuben Glass

I have another great Mother's Day gift idea or Birthday gift or an anytime of the year gift for a wonderful mother or parent. It is the flawless Penguin Parent and Child tabletop sculpture by Steuben Glass.
According to Steuben Glass, Penguin parents raise their chick in warmth and safety, protecting them from the frigid climate and surrounding predators. This sculpture, which is a parent encompassing their chick as they touch beaks, symbolizes the everlasting bond between a parent and child. The strength of this bond is so strong that their beaks become one. This is the perfect gift to show your love and appreciation to a caring parent, the one who raised you, stuck with you through thick and thin, and still loves you no matter what. It is the ultimate gift for the ultimate parent. Click here to view all of Steuben Glass' tabletop accessories available at Sallie home.

Simply Divine: Varga Art Crystal's Simplicity Stemware

Simplicity is beauty in its purest form, especially when you start with Varga's Crystal. Varga Art Crystal's Simplicity stemware may be more plain and unadorned than Varga's other collections but definitely doesn't lack in comparison. This crystal will surely stand out in even the most extravagant events.

The Simplicity stemware is simply divine! The stem is skillfully cut for comfort and elegance. At the base of the glass there are subtle yet stunning oval cut circles that add much to its "ahh-quota". Because of this stemware's simplicity, it is a very popular glass to etch with a monogram. This collection is also available in Sky Blue, Raspberry, Amber, or a Yellow/Green.

Jaune de Chrome Bangs Big with Limoges Porcelain Dinnerware

Jaune de Chrome keeps fine china contemporary and exciting. The Big Bang Gold Collection by Jaune de Chrome is simply stunning. The glaze for this collection is a mix of shiny and matte gold, making the surface textured and beautiful.

The most interesting piece from this Big Bang Gold collection, in my opinion, is the Teapot/Coffeepot. I think it is absolutely striking. The handle and spout jut out from the unusually-shaped body and are shiny and un-glazed, not textured like the body.

If you are looking for unique and interesting yet beautiful and classy Limoges porcelain for your table, look no further, Jaune de Chrome has it! Click here to view all Jaune de Chrome dinnerware available at Sallie home.
