Bring the Jungle to Your Home: Lynn Chase Jaguar Jungle

Before Lynn Chase started Lynn Chase Design, she traveled througout Africa sketching and photographing wildlife. Her keen observations of animals in their natural habitat supplied her with the understanding of animal characteristics needed to create a lot of her porcelain designs, including Jaguar Jungle - her first and most popular design.

The Jaguar Jungle Collection includes pieces of china and giftware that are hand-painted on white porcelain. All the pieces are different. The china shows a black rim painted with jaguars, flowers, and green leaves. The giftware, like the Jaguar Ring Holder or the Jaguar Covered Box, includes decorative yet useful sculptures of jaguars.

This collection is perfect for any animal lover; it's like bringing the animal life from the jungle home. A portion of the proceeds from Lynn Chase Design are generously donated to the Chase Wildlife Foundation, a foundation started by Lynn Chase herself to protect and sustain the wildlife; making it all the more worthwhile to decorate your home with her porcelain dinnerware and giftware. Mustardseed & Moonshine: An Instant Garden on Your Table

While browsing the "hip" and "unique" home decor and clothing chain stores this past weekend I saw a plethora of floral tableware very reminiscent of a product line we sell at Sallie Home, Mustardseed and Moonshine - a line made popular after their Daylily Navajo cup and saucer debuted on "Oprah's Favorite Things." Seeing these cheap knock-offs made me appreciate the quality of Mustardseed and Moonshine's garden of ceramic platters, nesting bowls, mugs, cups and saucers, dinnerware and service-ware.
Mustardseed and Moonshine's botanical earthenware is handmade in South Africa and takes about 17 days to create each and every piece. The ultra-thin, realistically detailed tableware is surprisingly very robust and fully functional, as they are safe for use in a conventional oven, microwave, and dishwasher. These are flowers that will last more than a day. Not only will this whimsical floral tableware last, it is guaranteed to brighten up any one's day. They are perfect for any garden or tea party. World Famous Chef, Thomas Keller Creates Raynaud 'Checks' Pattern to Recreate a Luxurious Dining Experience at Home

I'm in love with the houndstooth pattern; it is a classic pattern that has recently been finding it's way back into fabrics. Thomas Keller, the chef and owner of possibly the world's best resturant, French Laundry, loves the pattern too and doesn't think it should only apply to the world of fabrics. He has decided to bridge the two industries and introduce houndstooth to the world of table dinnerware.

Together, Thomas Keller and Limoges porcelain maunfacturer, Raynaud, commissioned a new line of porcelain that would be used in Keller's resturant, Per Se, in New York City. Patrons feast in luxury as they sit in the two-tired dining room overlooking Central Park and eat upon Keller's specially designed china 'Checks' which features a subtle houndstooth pattern around the rim of the dinnerware to echo the black-and-white checks of the chefs pants.

What would be more perfect than having a world famous chef, an artist of food, work with a world renowned maunfacturer of porcelain to design and create the plates and bowls you eat from? In my opinion, nothing; it is a perfect combination. Keller understands the part porcelain plays in both the creation and the pleasure of tasting the meal. Raynaud understands the porcelain needed to produce the highest quality fine china that will create a truely luxurious dining experience. Peacock Alley's Soprano Sheeting: Nothing Flat About It

Some may call it plain but there is nothing plain about any of Peacock Alley's linens; especially their Soprano design. Our customers would agree as Soprano linens have been the number one seller during this year's White Sale.

Soprano linens may appear simple and uninteresting but they are anything but plain. They are created by one of the world's leading luxurious linen manufacturers, Peacock Alley. These linens are silky smooth perfection, made of 400-thread count Egyptian cotton with exquisite detailing and an expert finish. The colors may seem neutral, coming in only 4 tones - glacier, ivory, taupe and white - but this only adds to their ageless appeal.

If you are looking for more decoration in your sheets and pillow cases, then check out the Soprano Stripe. Soprano Stripe is made with the same high quality expertise as Soprano but features a subtle striping; giving this linen more character with Peacock Alley's delicate detailing. Peacock Alley linens embody a richness you can feel and see. Click here to go directly to the Peacock Alley linens retailed at Sallie home.

Jaune de Chrome, Tortoise Tableware: Some Trends Last Forever

Tortoiseshell was everywhere in the 60's and 70's, but when the Hawksbill Turtle went on the endangered species list, the United Nations banned the tortoiseshell trade worldwide. But this would not stop this hot trend; manufacturers found a way to reproduce this look using a fake tortoiseshell that mimics the real thing so well that it has fooled a lot of people, including you.

Jaune de Chrome combines its innovative glazes and its knowledge of color and tone to produce their classic Tortoise Dinnerware Collection. The top-quality porcelain plates, bowls, and serving pieces are all wrapped in a realistic tortoiseshell border, edged with 24 karat gold. It's a reproduction of one of the longest lasting trends in fashion and design, and Jaune de Chrome does it perfectly. The Tortoise Dinnerware collection exemplifies why Jaune de Chrome is one of the most unique and world-renowned manufacturers in the tabletop industry. There are lots of things to take into consideration, like thread count, comfort level, design, etc... J.L Coquet: Paris Metallic Chinaware

Jean Louis Coquet is a well-known manufacturer of one-of-a-kind chinaware. J.L. Coquet came from the Limoges, France, like many great producers of porcelain. He garnered inspiration from all around him, including both the classic Limoges traditions and the French New Wave culture, in order to create his fabulous china. This is very obvious when one looks at his ‘Paris Metal’ dinnerware.

The Paris Metal collection by J.L. Coquet exhibit beautiful contemporary aesthetics. The china is printed with an innovative yet classic design that is reminiscent of a wrought iron railing which could easily be found on the streets of Paris. The pattern “pops” off the pristine white china for an eye catching spectacular on any table. If you love this pattern, then also check out the similar patterns: Paris Noir and Paris Sienne. Raynaud's "Hommage Flower Magix Box" Does Magic For Any Table

Cooking is an art form, from preparation to presentation. Like any artist, a chef likes to control their creation and the message they want to convey through it. Chefs, or any artist, do not have every opportunity to speak with every connoisseur, so the presentation brought to the table is very important. The food needs to speak for itself and there shouldn't be any noise to distort the message, like an over-stylized plate. This is why many restaurants prefer to use very simple dinnerware, like the French made Raynaud Limoges Porcelain line, Hommage.

Raynaud's Hommage may appear simplistic, but an abundance of inquires about this porcelain line may suggest that this "plain" dinnerware is leaving more of an impression on the food connoisseur than the meal. After seeing the "Hommage Flower Magix Box" by Raynaud in a Chicago restaurant, two patrons had to have this very item for themselves. At this particular restaurant, the "Hommage Flower Magix Box" provided six different salts and spices to the table, creating a very chic and contemporary presentation at the table.

The Hommage porcelain dinnerware maybe white and flat, but it has a pure simplicity that is shaped in such a unique way that is compliments any dish deliciously. But beware; this dinnerware and tableware has been found to take the attention away from the food on the plate. Click here to go directly to the Raynaud Collection available at Sallie home.

Anna Weatherley Fine China Dinnerware and Giftware - Spring Every Season

Nature is possibly the most beautiful thing in this world. Artist know this, otherwise why would so many paintings and sculptures be of nature? Unfortunately, nature is so intricate and unique that artists can only duplicate it, but never replicate it. Anna Weatherley china, however, comes very close to capturing the full beauty of nature on each and every plate and serving piece.

The 'Spring in Budapest' pattern of Anna Weatherley's is a perfect example of beautiful botanical art. Each plate and dish is hand-painted with detailed flowers, leaves, and insects, including her signature insect, the butterfly. With the 'Spring in Budapest' collection, it is almost like having the wonders of the spring right on your dinner table, brightening up any meal. This is probably why it is one of Anna Weatherley's most popular china patterns for brides and why this china was featured on the an episode of the very chic, very popular television show, "Sex and the City."

There is a consistency of theme and coloring in all of Anna Weatherley's china patterns, like 'Antique Vegetables,' 'Garden Party,' and 'Afternoon Tea Party,' making it easy to mix and match any of her patterns to create new and interesting looks in your home and on your dinner table. Click here to check out all the Anna Weatherley china dinnerware and gift-ware available at Sallie home.

Dress Your Table With William Yeoward Fine China

The joy of having your own home is being able to entertain in it. Successful entertaining begins with the perfect atmosphere; and the perfect atmosphere begins with creating an exquisite tabletop with beautiful dinnerware. If you are entertaining frequently, then you probably find your table looking repetitious as most people only have one set of fine china. For this reason, before you invest in fine china think about what pieces you are buying and how, with those pieces, you can stray away from the 'static-table' pitfall.

A new trend of mixing and matching china patterns allows a host or hostess to actually change the look of their table using their fine china. Recently, in her bridal registry, a bride-to-be combined two different William Yeoward fine china patterns, Avington and Gosford, to make her place setting. Unknowingly, she just created the prefect example of how to successfully mix and match china. The bright solid coloring of the Avington pattern will act like a picture frame, emphasizing the beautiful pattern that adorns the Gosford dinnerware.

Choosing a solid as her base allows her to change the look of her table just by switching out the pattern plate with another. As long as you stick with complimentary colors, and a balance of solid and pattern, you too can easily spice up your dinner table at an affordable price with mixing and matching. Varga Art Crystal: Athens Crystal Stemware for the Table

According to wine enthusiasts, the glass directly affects the savor of the wine. To truly appreciate and enjoy wine, one has to understand the role the eye plays in conjunction with the mouth while drinking wine. So I ask, what better way is there to please your eye than to drink from a beautifully crafted Varga 'Athens Collection' wine glass?

Varga Art Crystal's one-of-a-kind stemware is produced by Hungarian craftsman who hand-cut and intricately engrave each glass, turning ordinary crystal into works of art. The Athens pattern illustrates the uniqueness and skill of Varga's stemware that has captured the likes of presidents, royalty, heads of state, and corporations who have started giving Varga Art Crystal as gifts and awards.

The Athens Collection also exhibits another strength of Varga that separates them from the rest; color. The Athens Collection is available, not only in clear but, in Raspberry, Sky Blue, Amber, Cobalt, and Yellow/Green, as well. With all these color choices, it is easy to find the perfect stemware to compliment your dinnerware; making entertaining colorful and elegant at the same time. There is good reason why, for the last five years, Lady Primrose's bath, body and home fragrances have been a reoccuring gift idea on the Dr. Phil show. It is not just because Dr. Phil's wife adores Lady Primose's signature scent, Tryst, but also because Lady Primrose is truly a luxurious brand that sells extraordinary products for the bath, body and home.
