Easter Bunny Brought us Mustardseed and Moonshine Egg Cup

The egg cup is not a commonly used item on today's table. Typically one would use an egg cup to serve hard boiled eggs. But the egg cup has proven to hold other purposes. In the early 1800s, a drink created in New Orleans which consisted of absinthe, brandy, and bitters, this was the first cocktail and it was served in an egg cup much like the Mustardseed and Moonshine egg cup.

On my table, I would use the Mustardseed and Moonshine Poppy Welsh egg cup as a condiment holder, like for salt, pepper, and other seasonings. It is a great spring and summer accent to a table! It is perfect for Easter and Passover when you might actually want to use it for its intended purpose, to serve a hard-boiled egg! If you don't want to utilize the egg cup, many people have collected various egg cups to put on display; it's quite a collectible item. New Dinnerware from Raynaud!

Raynaud Porcelain Limoges Tableware and Dinnerware has introduced a new amazing collection of fine china called "Silver". Silver is a fun dinnerware line which is named after a common theme of all the piece in this collection, the color silver. The fun thing about this collection is its diversity in each plate, bowl, or cup's pattern. Some have just a silver rim around the inner and outer edge, other pieces have a clover pattern covering the surface or just the rim. The clovers look as if they are made from bent metal and are attached together by a tiny ring and come in different sizes depending on the piece of china. Though very different, together this collection forms a cohesive and interesting look for the table you must try. Fine China as a Work of Art: Raynaud Limoges Tableware

I was at my cousin's house recently and in her dinning room she has her Raynuad Allee Royale china prominently hung on her wall as if it was a piece of art. It looks beautiful and it got me thinking, "china is an art and it should be displayed like any other sculpture or painting and not tucked away in a china cabinet."

The Raynuad Allee Royale, which like I said is my cousin's china pattern, is a perfect example as china as art. It is a wonderful combination of blues, golds and greens. The blue flowers are skillfully detailed and there is an intricate weave around the rim. It is a classic china pattern, that is, like any other work of art, timeless. This dinnerware can be used everyday and not just for dinner.

Classic and Elegant; Hawthorne Limoges Dinnerware by Raynaud Tableware

The Hawthorne Collection by Raynaud Tableware is classic and elegant. This collection may seem plain at first glance compared to a lot of Raynaud's collection, but it's beauty is in it's detailing. The detailing blends in quite lovely with the rest of the plate as it is all in white and just slightly raised. Around the rim of the plates and along the body of some pieces like the gravy boat there are beautiful flowers and leaves connected by vines. Each piece is cut with curves and scalloping to give it an extra flare.

The Hawthorne collection is so beautiful and simple that it would be wonderful for everyday use - that is if you like doing dishes by hand. However, this collection is elegant enough to be used in formal settings as well. It is a versatile collection that is also timely. Cipolla Pewter Westport Glass Bowl; Making Glass Natural

The Westport Glass Bowl by Cipolla Pewter is a stunningly rustic piece that would look handsome on any table. The glass bowl itself is held in a nest of twigs that give this piece its natural, woodsy feel. It would be a wonderful gift for anyone who loves the outdoors or owns a rustic home!

Cipolla Pewter is a wonderful brand that manufactures their pewter in Italy using the old world methods. The patina used at the end of the creation process makes these pewter trays, bowls, and flatware comparable to some of the world's most expensive sterling silver. It is a wonderful brand that like their pieces will only improve with time.

Raynaud Tableware: Rose Petals Plate Garnishes

There is no need to garnish a Raynaud Limoges Alba plate. Realistic pink and purple-hued flower petals pop off the white background of the plate as if they were strewn on by hand. These plates will compliment any meal amazingly; it's a quick solution for a beautiful spring table. For each course, the corresponding plate offers a different pattern than the previous. For instance, the Alba dinner plate only has three petals in a small edge area of the plate whereas the Alba dessert plate has a plethora of petals everywhere. These plates are unique and like no other design I have seen before and are made from Raynaud's quality Limoges porcelain.

Juane de chrome Tabletop: Cream Scale Dinnerware

I learned a new word today - or should i say style - that is as cool as it sounds; Majolica. Mojolica is a pottery term in regard to a type of glazing process on earthenware. In Majolica, a white tin glaze is applied to the raw surface of the earthenware before being fired. Once applied, the pottery is then fired at a low temperature which restricts the flow of the glaze as it melts, producing a soft, opaque, directed, glossy surface. This is a unique glazing process that makes these ceramic pieces stand apart from other wares. A great example of this is the Cream Scale Dinnerware Collection by Jaune de Chrome.

The Cream Scale collection, available with either a platinum or a gold rim, is perfect for a contemporary setting or a formal event. The Finition Mug from the collection is the perfect start to any morning accompanied with a fresh newspaper, or the fitting end to a wonderful dinner with friends. The natural coloring of this dinnerware collection makes it a perfect accompaniment to a table set styled with a cool colored palette of greens and blues. Jaune de Chrome has much more table sets in this magnificent glaze. Click here to directly view Jaune de Chrome tableware available at Sallie Home.

Anna Weatherley Colours Fine China: Simply Anna

Anna Weatherley is widely known for her hand-painted, very detailed flowers, fruits, butterflies and bugs strewn on fine white porcelain dinnerware and tableware. However, these classic Anna Weatherley pieces are not classical porcelain patterns. Despite this, all the artisans trained by Anna Weatherley are still taught in the classic painting tradition. They utilize their traditional porcelain painting training for such collections as Simply Anna and Colours. Both these patterns may seem simple and boring compared to Anna Weatherley typical dinnerware collections, such as Spring in Budapest, but both of these patterns showcase just how skillful and beautiful the classical form can be.

Simply Anna is a classic pure white imprinted porcelain with a gold scalloped rim. Colours comes in four colors-celadon, purple, bright green, and moss green-and all have a gold scalloped rim. The Colour dinnerware collection is colorful, playful, elegant and stylish all in one. Both of these china patterns are perfect for any table, they work for any occasion and are timeless. If you ever want to liven things up or create a more ornate table, just add a salad or bread plate in one of Anna Weatherley's more well-known botanical patterns. Click here to check out all of Anna Weatherley's dinnerware and tableware collection available on the Sallie Home website.

Mustardseed & Moonshine: An Instant Garden on Your Table

While browsing the "hip" and "unique" home decor and clothing chain stores this past weekend I saw a plethora of floral tableware very reminiscent of a product line we sell at Sallie Home, Mustardseed and Moonshine - a line made popular after their Daylily Navajo cup and saucer debuted on "Oprah's Favorite Things." Seeing these cheap knock-offs made me appreciate the quality of Mustardseed and Moonshine's garden of ceramic platters, nesting bowls, mugs, cups and saucers, dinnerware and service-ware.
Mustardseed and Moonshine's botanical earthenware is handmade in South Africa and takes about 17 days to create each and every piece. The ultra-thin, realistically detailed tableware is surprisingly very robust and fully functional, as they are safe for use in a conventional oven, microwave, and dishwasher. These are flowers that will last more than a day. Not only will this whimsical floral tableware last, it is guaranteed to brighten up any one's day. They are perfect for any garden or tea party. Sallie home is excited to have a little monkey in our store called "Petit Singe." Juliska Fine Stoneware is the adorn source of our new collection. Monkeys in Europe are symbols of ingenuity, spontaneity, and are an irrepressible sense of fun.

We think our monkey would welcome any attention from you, whether it's breakfast or dinner. The dessert plate is imprinted with the Petit Singe holding a palmetto leaf covering the whole plate. The whole collection, dinnerware and serving pieces, is meant to mix, as it comes in portabello, whitewash and cucumber. I love it in soft cucumber!

The tableware collection also comes in a unique octogonal shape that may or may not feature our funny little monkey. No matter the shape or size this stoneware collection is great for freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. How about that for uniqueness and carefree fun? Raynaud's "Hommage Flower Magix Box" Does Magic For Any Table

Cooking is an art form, from preparation to presentation. Like any artist, a chef likes to control their creation and the message they want to convey through it. Chefs, or any artist, do not have every opportunity to speak with every connoisseur, so the presentation brought to the table is very important. The food needs to speak for itself and there shouldn't be any noise to distort the message, like an over-stylized plate. This is why many restaurants prefer to use very simple dinnerware, like the French made Raynaud Limoges Porcelain line, Hommage.

Raynaud's Hommage may appear simplistic, but an abundance of inquires about this porcelain line may suggest that this "plain" dinnerware is leaving more of an impression on the food connoisseur than the meal. After seeing the "Hommage Flower Magix Box" by Raynaud in a Chicago restaurant, two patrons had to have this very item for themselves. At this particular restaurant, the "Hommage Flower Magix Box" provided six different salts and spices to the table, creating a very chic and contemporary presentation at the table.

The Hommage porcelain dinnerware maybe white and flat, but it has a pure simplicity that is shaped in such a unique way that is compliments any dish deliciously. But beware; this dinnerware and tableware has been found to take the attention away from the food on the plate. Click here to go directly to the Raynaud Collection available at Sallie home.
