10 Things to Know About Bridal Registry

If you are among the masses who recently got engaged over this post holiday season, or know someone that did, here are some tips and advice before you start registering.

1. This is your ultimate wish-list. It's okay to ask for "splurge" items.
2. When creating your registry, don't be afraid to ask in-store consultants questions and advice.
3. Always register for more gifts than you have guests. And remember to choose gifts for all price ranges to give guest options.
4. Register more than one place to make it easier for guests to buy gifts, and make sure these stores have online bridal registries for out of town guests.
5. Register early so guests can rely on your registry for all gift giving events, including the engagement party, bridal showers, and the wedding.
6. Think of the sort of living and entertaining you want to do - and select items accordingly. Will you ever need that Soup Tureen? Do you want sterling silver?
7. When it comes to tableware, it is okay to mix patterns and shapes.
8. Include your husband in the registry decisions - he will be using these items, too.
9. Register items to consider: table, bath and bed linens; flatware; cookware and bakeware; dinnerware - everyday and fancy; crystal - white wine, crystal, champagne, and cocktail glasses; things for entertaining - cheese board, barware, candlesticks...
10. Give your registry information to your immediate family and those who are throwing parties and let them spread the word. If you have a wedding website, like knot.com, include a section for your places of registry.

Some popular registry brands to look at:
China: Raynaud, Anna Weatherley, J.L Coquet, William Yeoward, Philippe DeshoulieresAnnie Glass, Juliska
Flatware: Ricci, Couzon
Crystal: Varga, William Yeoward, Steuben Glass
Table Linens: Le Jacqaurd Francais, SFERRA

Peacock Alley Linen Airstream Event At Sallie home in St. Louis

Peacock Alley is on the road...in an Airstream. On the roads of Dallas, the company wander on an overgrown, rusted Airstream. While others would leave it, Peacock Alley saw an opportunity to display their bedding and bath collections on wheels. The owners adopted this old Airstream and completely retrofitted the entire trailer.

Now the Airstream is completely functional and fantastically designed in all Peacock Alley linens. The sitting area mixes an old fabric collection with a current collection, Athena. The collection of linens are displayed on boudoir pillows that stick out of the overhead compartments (think airplane), the beds are complete with custom-sized 2010 Lotus bed linens, and the bath is filled with Euro Pillows and bamboo bath towels.

We were lucky enough to have the Airstream grace us with it's presence in St. Louis, Missouri - the furthest Peacock Alley has traveled with it. If you have a chance to see the Peacock Alley Airstream in your area, please do, it's worth the trip. For Peacock Alley linens, visit, www.salliehome.com!

'Lyrical Leaves and Bold Blooms'; SFERRA Davis Duvet Covers and Shams

I have to admit when it comes to bedding, I am a "Plain Jane" - I typically stick to solid, neutral colors and use accents to brighten and decorate the bedroom. When I saw the 'elegant eye-catching' new Davis bed pattern from SFERRA, I made the decision to change my boring bedroom style.

The 1815-Davis pattern by SFERRA is offered in Duvet Covers and Shams. The beautiful pattern of 'lyrical leaves and bold blooms in paprika and geranium' will liven up any bedroom. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it is just as exquisite to lie in. SFERRA manufacturers and designs luxury bed linens only of the highest quality.

Peacock Alley's Soprano Sheeting: Nothing Flat About It

Some may call it plain but there is nothing plain about any of Peacock Alley's linens; especially their Soprano design. Our customers would agree as Soprano linens have been the number one seller during this year's White Sale.

Soprano linens may appear simple and uninteresting but they are anything but plain. They are created by one of the world's leading luxurious linen manufacturers, Peacock Alley. These linens are silky smooth perfection, made of 400-thread count Egyptian cotton with exquisite detailing and an expert finish. The colors may seem neutral, coming in only 4 tones - glacier, ivory, taupe and white - but this only adds to their ageless appeal.

If you are looking for more decoration in your sheets and pillow cases, then check out the Soprano Stripe. Soprano Stripe is made with the same high quality expertise as Soprano but features a subtle striping; giving this linen more character with Peacock Alley's delicate detailing. Peacock Alley linens embody a richness you can feel and see. Click here to go directly to the Peacock Alley linens retailed at Sallie home.

White Sale: The Time to Buy Bed Linens

One-third of an average person's life is spent in bed, making it extremely important to select just the right bed and bedding. There are lots of things to take into consideration, like thread count, comfort level, design, etc... You do not have to think about these things when you buy luxury linens, they've already provided you the best quality. Unfortunately it seems like as the quality gets better, the more expensive an average nights rest becomes. Fortunately, right now(January 19th) thru February 2nd, you can purchase some of the most luxurious linens for a discounted price because bedding and linen companies like Yves Delorme and Peacock Alley, need to make room for their new collections. During this time you can find 20 to 30 percent off last year's collection, which are just as chic, luxurious and beautiful as when they first debuted.

Yves Delorme linens lead the pack by offering 30 percent off their world-renowned, already affordable, luxurious linens. Yves Delorme has always had their finger on the pulse when it comes to pattern and color. Take the Trefles pattern for example, offered in a quilt, shams, and sheeting. This inviting pattern consists of a pure white background covered in a field of clover, pink flowers and green trefoils. This clean and simple pattern will be a great addition on any bed, in any room. With just one touch you will know the wonder that is Yves Delorme. For other patterns on sale, please call Sallie home at 314-567-7883 and to go directly to the Yves Delorme bed linen collection, click here.
